Upon arrival at Accra Kotoka International Airport, our experienced guides will assist and chauffeur you to Charleston hotel to relax and unwind after your long flight, approximately, 15 minutes drive.
The city of Accra dates back to the 15th century and has a blend of colonial and modern architecture that summarize her history. We will visit the W. E. B. Dubois Center for Pan African Culture, Independence/ Black Star Square and Kwame Nkrumah Memorial park. Hotel: Charleston hotel. Meals included: Breakfast.
We will leave for Assin Manso. During the trip, we will go past scenic villages and through the evergreen forests. On the way, we will stop at Assin Manso, where the mortal remains of two former slaves from the United States of America and Jamaica were re-interred in August 1998 during Ghana’s first Emancipation Day Celebration. You will also see the “Slave River” where captured Africans were washed before being confined in the Slave Castles to await shipment to the Americas and the Caribbean. Visit the world’s heritage conservation center of Elmina castle where many Africans left their shores into the sugar cane and tobacco plantations of America & Caribbean Islands where labor force was needed and thereby creating the world’s largest Diaspora. After lunch, we will drive back to Anomabo Beach Hotel and pass the night. Meals included: Breakfast.
We will repeat the tour at cape coast castle. After the tour and lunch, we will visit, Akonoma Basic School to interact with the students. Hotel: Anomabo Beach Hotel. Meals included: Breakfast.
We will drive to Kakum National Park, one of the West Africa’s surviving tropical rain forests, covering a total area of 350sqkms with its unique kanopy walk way suspended over seven bridges and 30metres above the forest floor. Learn about the different types of trees and their medicinal uses. We will take lunch at Hans cottage where we can watch the cottage crocks as well. Hotel: Anomabo Beach Hotel. We will drive to Kumasi the capital of the Ashanti kingdom and the seat of the Ashanti King to obtain firsthand information about the legacies and history of the Ashanti kingdom. After lunch, we will drive to Asantewaa premier hotel for the night.
We will drive back to relax and enjoy the sandy beach of Anomabo Beach Hotel. Meals included: Breakfast.
We will perform a traditional naming ceremony for our brothers and sisters from the Diaspora. All participants will be given an African name and certificates. After the ceremony, Afodat will entertain us and take us through traditional drumming and dance lessons.
After completing the pre-departure protocols, we will do our last shopping at Centre for Arts & Culture before we escort you to the airport for check-in and departure.
